Note - This functionality is not currently enabled. All letters are directed to the output selection specified in the Produce Letters process.
A default printer may be stored against an individual user, on the Users tab, within the Security functionality. The selected value defines the User's preferred printer.
A default printer/ printer pool may also be held against an individual Letter Template on the Template Maintenance tab within the Correspondence functionality.
If a printer/printer pool is stored on the Letter Template, this is displayed as the default on the Create Letter Request Wizard within Correspondence. Otherwise, the printer configured against the current User is displayed. If neither of these have been defined, the default is null. The default printer/printer pool to which the letter is to be directed, may be overwritten by selecting an alternative printer or printer pool on the Create Letter Request screen.
The printer/printer pool on the Letter Template also takes priority over the User's preferred printer when displaying the default in the Produce Letters Wizard. A printer or printer pool should be specified in the Produce Letters process, which provides an output location for any letter for which this has not yet been defined.
