External Batch processing for correspondence can be turned on at system level.
When it is on, correspondence can be extracted in XML format and the user can control the number of correspondence items included in each extract file. The user can also define header and footer values for inclusion in the files.
When a system is operating with an External batch model:

all templates should be configured with:
